To enroll in our teacher training program, no formal yoga experience is required. However, it is recommended that you have at least one year of yoga practice prior to taking this course. In addition, you will be required to practice at least 6 hours per week as part of the commitment to our teacher training. We at Yoga Mayu are committed to providing the best and we recognize our responsibility for maintaining our excellent reputation for high standards.
Our BeliefAt Yoga Mayu, we do not discriminate. We believe that yoga is a practice for anyone who is seeking a healthier lifestyle and a more meaningful existence. It is our experience that the best yoga teachers are those who have gained their knowledge from the challenges and the growths of their own practice. Our teachers are well trained and have a strong personal practice which has helped them to create grounded and focused lifestyles. Our training focuses on self awareness and inner growth, rather than promoting Guru-disciple relationships. In these times, living in the western world, we find that type of relationship to be unrealistic so we focus our efforts in a different direction. We teach the belief that yoga should always be about the student’s well being. A great teacher is someone who’s voice and presence shines through their compassion, humbleness, humor and presence. These are the qualities that create a genuine and sustainable practice. top
